Pohang City Announces Global Income Tax Payment Requirements

Pohang City has announced that individuals with global income from the previous year must report and pay global income tax and personal local income tax on attributable global income by May 31. This announcement serves as a reminder for citizens to fulfill their tax obligations. 

Convenient electronic reporting is available through the National Tax Service Home Tax and Local Tax Wi Tax in real-time. Personal local income tax can be paid directly without filing a separate report. This makes the process of reporting and paying taxes much easier for taxpayers. 

To further improve citizen convenience, a 'help desk' has been installed and is operating in the conference room (2nd floor) of the Pohang Tax Office and Nam-gu Office throughout May. Taxpayers who have received an all-fill-in notice can report and pay with the notified tax amount if there are no changes. Additionally, the elderly and the disabled can receive reporting assistance services such as 1:1 electronic filing support. 

For those who prefer to visit the office in person, a 'self-written window' has been prepared and is operating so that taxpayers can report on their own. 

Export entrepreneurs have been granted an extension of their personal local income tax payment deadline until August 31. This extension has been given by applying a unified standard with global income tax. Additionally, those subject to confirmation of faithful reporting are extended by two months. 

Choi Jeong-hoon, head of the Financial Management Division, urged taxpayers to actively utilize convenient electronic reporting such as Hometax, Witax, and mobile, and promised to provide cleaning services for the convenience of reporting and payment. 

In conclusion, citizens who are subject to the payment of global income tax and personal local income tax must fulfill their tax obligations by May 31. The process of reporting and paying taxes has been made easier through electronic reporting and payment options, as well as the installation of help desks and self-written windows. The city of Pohang is doing its best to provide convenient and efficient tax services to its citizens.
