Ki Hajar Dewantara was a prominent figure in the Indonesian education system, who believed that education was the key to achieving independence and self-determination. He was also a proponent of "Education for All" and advocated for the education of girls and women.
In honor of Ki Hajar Dewantara's legacy, the Ministry of Education and Culture (Kemdikbud) has released the theme, logo, and guidelines for the flag ceremony in commemoration of the 2023 National Education Day.
The theme for National Education Day 2023 is "Transforming Education for a Better Future". This theme emphasizes the importance of innovation and adaptation in the education system, especially in the face of the challenges brought about by the COVID-19 pandemic.
The logo for National Education Day 2023 features an image of Ki Hajar Dewantara surrounded by students, symbolizing his commitment to education for all. The logo also incorporates elements of the Indonesian flag, reflecting the importance of education in the development of the nation.
The flag ceremony guidelines for National Education Day 2023 include the raising of the national flag in schools, offices, and other public places, as well as the singing of the national anthem and recitation of the Pancasila, the five principles that form the foundation of the Indonesian state.
The Ministry of Education and Culture has also encouraged schools and universities to organize events and activities to celebrate National Education Day, such as seminars, workshops, and cultural performances.
National Education Day is an important day to reflect on the state of education in Indonesia and to recognize the contributions of Ki Hajar Dewantara and other pioneers of the education system. It is also a time to renew our commitment to ensuring that all Indonesians have access to quality education, regardless of their background or circumstances.
