Prophet Yusuf (AS) was the son of Prophet Ya'qub (AS) and his mother's name was Raheel. Yusuf (AS) was blessed with beauty, intelligence, and prophethood. He had eleven brothers who were all jealous of him, and one day they plotted against him and threw him into a well.
Yusuf (AS) was eventually rescued by a caravan of travelers and sold into slavery. He was taken to Egypt, where he was bought by a wealthy man named Aziz. Yusuf (AS) served Aziz faithfully and earned his trust and respect. However, Yusuf (AS) faced another trial when Aziz's wife tried to seduce him. Yusuf (AS) refused her advances and remained steadfast in his faith.
The Quran mentions this trial in the following verse:
"And she, in whose house he was, sought to seduce him (to do an evil act), she closed the doors and said: 'Come on, O you.' He said: 'I seek refuge in ALLAH ( ALLAH forbid)! Truly, he (your husband) is my master! He made my stay agreeable! (So I will never betray him). Verily, the Zalimun (wrongdoers) will never be successful.'" [Quran 12:23]
Despite his refusal, Aziz's wife falsely accused Yusuf (AS) of trying to seduce her. Yusuf (AS) was then thrown into prison, where he remained for many years. But even in prison, Yusuf (AS) remained patient and put his trust in ALLAH (SWT).
Eventually, Yusuf (AS) was released from prison and was made the chief minister of Egypt. He was able to interpret the dreams of the Pharaoh and helped save Egypt from famine. Yusuf (AS) was reunited with his family and forgave his brothers for what they had done to him.
The story of Yusuf (AS) teaches us the importance of patience, trust in ALLAH (SWT), and forgiveness. Despite facing many trials and tribulations, Yusuf (AS) remained patient and put his trust in ALLAH (SWT). He forgave his brothers for their wrongdoing and showed them kindness and mercy.
In the words of the Quran:
"And verily, whosoever shows patience and forgives, that would truly be from the things recommended by Allah." [Quran 42:43]
May ALLAH (SWT) grant us the patience, trust, and forgiveness of Prophet Yusuf (AS) in our own lives. Ameen.
