Once upon a time, during the era of Hazrat Ibrahim (AS), ALLAH (SWT) bestowed upon him a dream that he was to be given a child. Hazrat Ibrahim (AS) was overjoyed, but he and his wife Hajara (RA) were already old and had no children, which made them wonder how this could ever happen.
One day, as Hazrat Ibrahim (AS) was pondering over the dream, he heard a voice calling out to him, "O Ibrahim, indeed We give you good tidings of a boy who will be among the righteous." (Quran 37:101)
Hazrat Ibrahim (AS) was overjoyed and could not believe his ears. He said, "O my Lord, how can I have a son when my wife has been barren and I have reached extreme old age?" (Quran 2:67)
But Allah (SWT) reassured him, "Thus does ALLAH do what He wills." (Quran 2:253)
Soon after, Sarah (RA) became pregnant and gave birth to a son whom they named Ismail (AS). Hazrat Ibrahim (AS) loved his son dearly and was overjoyed to see him grow up.
However, one day, ALLAH (SWT) tested Hazrat Ibrahim (AS) and commanded him to sacrifice his son Ismail (AS) as a test of his faith and obedience.
Hazrat Ibrahim (AS) was in a state of shock How could he sacrifice his beloved son? But he knew that he must obey ALLAH's (SWT) command, no matter how difficult it may seem.
He shared his dream with Ismail (AS), and the young boy willingly accepted his fate, saying, "O my father, do as you are commanded. You will find me, if ALLAH wills, of the steadfast." (Quran 37:102)
Hazrat Ibrahim (AS) and Ismail (AS) journeyed to a desolate place, and Hazrat Ibrahim (AS) prepared to carry out Allah's (SWT) command. As he raised the knife, ready to sacrifice his son, ALLAH (SWT) intervened and replaced Ismail (AS) with a ram, which was sacrificed in his place. ALLAH (SWT) was pleased with Hazrat Ibrahim's (AS) submission and sacrifice and declared him a leader and an example for all of humanity to follow. Hazrat Ibrahim (AS) and Ismail (AS) had passed the ultimate test of faith and obedience, and their story has inspired and guided Muslims throughout history.
The moral of the story is that ALLAH (SWT) tests those whom He loves, and it is our duty to submit to His will and trust Him completely. Hazrat Ibrahim's (AS) unwavering faith and obedience to ALLAH's (SWT) command is a lesson for us all, and a reminder to always put our trust in ALLAH (SWT) and seek His guidance in all matters.
