Jesse McFadden was a 45-year-old man from Durham, North Carolina. He had a long history of criminal behavior, including convictions for drug possession, breaking and entering, and larceny. McFadden had been in and out of jail for much of his adult life, and his criminal history spanned several decades.
In 2005, McFadden was convicted of possession with intent to sell and deliver cocaine. He was sentenced to 51 months in prison and three years of supervised release. In 2016, he was charged with breaking and entering and larceny after breaking and entering. He was sentenced to 20 to 33 months in prison and placed on probation for 18 months upon release.
In 2019, McFadden was charged with assault with a deadly weapon and was accused of hitting a man with a metal pipe. He pleaded guilty to the charge and was sentenced to 21 to 35 months in prison. He was released from prison in August 2021 and was on probation at the time of the murders.
McFadden's criminal history suggests a pattern of violent behavior, and many are questioning how he was able to obtain a gun. The tragedy has renewed calls for stricter gun laws in the United States and has prompted discussions about the need for better mental health care and support for individuals with a history of violent behavior.
As the investigation into this heartbreaking event continues, the focus remains on the victims and their families. Our thoughts are with them during this difficult time.
